Bulgari’s Scuola Bvlgari: Empowering Women in the Future of Fine Jewelry

In a significant move towards inclusivity and innovation, Bulgari has inaugurated the Scuola Bvlgari, a pioneering jewelry-making academy located at its Valenza Manifattura in Italy. This initiative aims to redefine access to the traditionally male-dominated craft of fine jewelry by providing comprehensive training and promoting diversity within the industry.

Partnering with the Tarì Design School, Scuola Bvlgari offers a six-month immersive program that integrates Bulgari’s distinctive artisanal techniques. Notably, more than half of the Valenza facility’s staff are women, marking a significant shift in an industry historically reserved for male artisans. The academy not only prepares artisans for careers at Bulgari but also aspires to influence the broader industry by honoring tradition and fostering innovation led by women such as alumna Feng Jia.

Female leadership plays a crucial role in this transformation, with 62% of Bulgari’s global managers being women, including Jewelry Creative Director Lucia Silvestri and designer Mary Katrantzou. By investing in talent and inclusivity, Bulgari is shaping the future of craftsmanship in high jewelry.Marie Claire

This initiative reflects a broader trend in the luxury jewelry industry towards embracing diversity, sustainability, and innovation, setting a new standard for what the future of fine jewelry can look like.
