Did you know Mother’s Day has a rich history that dates back over a century? 💐 While celebrations honoring mothers can be traced to ancient Greece and Rome, the modern Mother’s Day we know began in the United States in the early 1900s.
In 1908, Anna Jarvis held the first official Mother’s Day in Grafton, West Virginia, to honor her own mother and recognize the sacrifices mothers make for their children. Her heartfelt mission turned into a national movement, and in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday of May as a national holiday: Mother’s Day.
Today, it’s celebrated in over 40 countries 🌍 — a beautiful reminder to express love, gratitude, and appreciation for the women who shape our lives. 💝
👉 Whether through flowers, cards, or quality time, take a moment this #MothersDay to say “thank you” to the amazing moms out there!
